American Legion
Post 96 Roscommon, Michigan salutes all of our military services (Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy) and we thank you.
AMERICAN
LEGION POST 96 ROSCOMMON, MICHIGAN participates in and conducts many functions, events and ceremonies in the Roscommon area highlighted
below. Periodically visit vets in the local retirement assisted living
and nursing homes. Maintain 220 plus veterans grave sites at (3) cemeteries:
Pioneer, Rock and Pere Chaney (grave site of a Civil War Veteran).
Perform highway clean-up (3) times
per year. Sponsor High School students to attend week long training
programs at the following: Boys State, Boys Nation, Girls State, your Career Law Enforcement
(Trooper School).
Support the Little League of Roscommon/St.
Helen ball players. Conduct Flag Retirement ceremonies on Flag Day (June 14th)
each year.
We have “adopted”
the troops and their families of the MTC (Maneuver Training Center) and we prepare and serve a Christmas dinner and an outdoor
cookout in the summertime.
